Time-savings and improved work environment in care homes for people with disabilities

Results from study

A study from 2024 shows that Abilia’s cognitive time and planning solution, MEMOplanner, not only provides users with a stronger sense of time, greater independence and enhanced feeling of security, but also saves a significant amount of time staff in care homes.

The study shows that time is mostly saved by

  • Fewer unnecessary repetitions and reminders

53 minutes saved daily per staff due to fewer reminders and repetitions, equivalent to more than 5 full weeks per year*. This reduced workload creates a calmer environment and provides more time for quality care.

  • Fewer conflicts and minstunderstandings

31 minutes saved daily per staff due to fewer conflicts and misunderstandings, equivalent to more than 3 full weeks per year *. Fewer conflicts lead to a better work environment, allowing staff to focus on delivering valuable care.

  • Easier onboarding of new and temporary staff

24 minutes saved per occasion when introducing new or temporary staff, resulting in less stress, higher quality, and fewer mistakes.

    * Time savings for one staff based on a 40-hour workweek

The time saved is primarily reinvested quality interactions with residents in care homes and for planning and engaging in meaningful activities together.

These insights come from a health economic study conducted to assess the quantitative benefits from a care provider’s perspective.
