Handi helps Frederik to create structure and clarity in his every day life

Frederik lives in Denmark. He was first diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) when he was 30 years old.

Frederik finds it difficult to concentrate for long periods of time. He has trouble understanding structure and finds it difficult to organize and carry out everyday activities. He is forgetful and he becomes easily distracted and stressed.

Frederik has been using 'Handi' for three years. Handi supports people with cognitive difficulties in creating structure and clarity. It gives him greater independence and better experiences in everyday life. Translation: “Handi is a great help and comfort to me. It makes my disability less. It is small and neat - almost invisible. I can take it everywhere in my pocket” says Frederik.

His whole routine and future plans have been entered in Handi, so he remembers what he needs during the day, week and month.

The alarm rings at certain times during the day ie. "Have you walked the dog? ", "Have you eaten? ", Have you taken your medication? Frederik must answer "yes" or "no". If he answers "no", then it rings 15 minutes later - again and again until it gets a "yes".

Using Handi helps Frederik remember what he needs to do, such as eating, brushing his teeth and washing up. And because he must answer whether he has actually done the different things he avoids, for example, that he takes an overdose of his medication.
