GEWA Maxi is a large, robust and easy-to-use IR remote control, (IR= infrared light) that helps the individual to manage equipment in their home. The prerequisite is that the equipment is controlled by IR and not, for example, radio. A common need for users of GEWA Maxi is to control the TV and one or more relay boxes with a table lamp, table fan or heating element connected.
Important to secure that the equipment is controlled by IR
Traditionally, TVs have been controlled by IR. Newer TVs can use radio or Bluetooth. This technology is not transferable to GEWA Maxi. Abilia's Andromeda Socket relay box is recommended for controlling lights or similar equipment. This relay box can receive IR signals from GEWA Maxi.
User-friendly GEWA Maxi
GEWA Maxi has 16 large buttons that require only a small amount of pressing force. The buttons are recessed to make it easier to hit the right spot in case of impaired sensation and motor skills. Confirmation in the form of sound, light and vibration provides feedback at the touch of a button. The buttons are customized with supporting images that clearly symbolize what is to be controlled.
There is also the possibility of an impact delay for those who have some type of tremor and tremble on the hand. Announcement delay means that the button is pressed for a pre-selected time, before the selection is activated.
With GEWA Maxi, an individual can become more independent and does not need to seek help from relatives or other support persons.
