GEWA Maxi is a large, robust, and user-friendly IR remote control that helps operate equipment in the home. With a single remote control, you can operate the TV, music system, and lamps, as well as open and close windows and doors. The requirement is that the devices have IR (infrared) signals.

What are IR signals?

IR signals are invisible signals based on infrared light, a form of electromagnetic radiation with a longer wavelength than visible light. They are used to transmit information wirelessly, for example from a remote control to a TV.

Infrared signals are used by remote controls to operate devices such as TVs and CD players by sending coded pulses of IR light.

You must check whether the devices you want to control with GEWA Maxi is compatible with IR signals. Not sure if your TV uses IR signals? In that case, we recommend contacting your TV supplier.

Newer TVs may use other signal types, such as radio or Bluetooth. These are signals the GEWA Maxi cannot be programmed to send.

User friendly

GEWA Maxi has 16 large buttons that require only a light touch. The buttons are recessed to make it easier to press the correct one if you have reduced sensation or motor control. Feedback in the form of sound, light, and vibration confirms when a button is pressed. The buttons can be fitted with support images that clearly symbolize the function being controlled.

It is also possible to set a delay for users who experience hand tremors. A pressing delay means that the button input is registered after a preselected time before activation occurs.
With GEWA Maxi, users can be more independent and do not need assistance from family members or support staff.

It is easy to create an overlay and choose the support images to be used in GEWA Maxi. Create your own supportive pictures for the overlay.

The product is marketed as a technical aid class I for people with disabilities and complies with Regulation (EU) 2017/745 - MDR.
